Welcome!

Hi I'm Tammy, owner of Savvy Cockers and my beautiful group of girls. We are still in the early stages of getting everything up and running here again.

My Story

Back in 1997 was the beginning of my love for Cocker Spaniels.  My husband and I purchased our first one from a local pet store.  Although getting one from a pet store was a big mistake, it was still the beginning of a love affair.

Our first Cocker made me realize the various things that are lacking in Cockers.  He was so bold we had to take him to a dog trainer.  However, we created such a bond through training that I fell in love with it.  Over the first year of owning our first dog, we decided to add six to our pack.  We had two Cocker Spaniels, a Shih Tzu, Border Collie, and two German Shepherds.  When we got our last German Shepherd, I was so involved that I decided to become a dog trainer.

I only stopped training when my husband and I decided to start to raise our human family.  We melded them together into one happy group.  My daughter still shares my love of dogs, though my son isn't as big of a fan.

It wasn't until 2006 that I got my first Cocker to breed–Lizzy, Namees' True Parti Girl. She was a fantastic girl.  She produced my first home-bred champion, Maverick.  You can see him here.  She also produced others who were pointed.

When my children got too busy with sports, I had to take a break from it for a while. But we always had a Cocker underfoot.

Fast forward to 2022, my kids are now in college, so I'm ready to get back into raising puppies.  I have added a puppy-raising office to give me the space needed to raise them with the best care.  Check out our full setup here.
